Vape pods are one of the trendiest vaping devices for vapers, new and old. They make vaping easy, straightforward, and convenient. They’re also very affordable and don’t require advanced knowledge to use. A vape pod brings together the best vape pen and the latest vape technology.

Basic vaping devices can be limited and have low battery power. Advanced mods customize the vaping experience and have high power. However, it takes some time to learn how to use these advanced mods, and they’re more expensive. A vape pod is somewhere in the middle, combining the best of both worlds.

Here are some quick facts about vape pods:

  • A vape pod is built around a container that holds and vaporizes your e-juice, aka the pod.
  • The cartridge has a built-in coil, a wick, and e-juice. There is no tank or atomizer like with other vape devices.
  • A vape pod is an all-in-one system and a self-contained device.
  • Depending on the system, the average vape pod holds 1-3 mL of e-juice.
  • Vape pods are larger than an e-cigarette, but they are portable and can easily be put into any bag or pocket.

Let’s learn more about how do you use a vape pod.

How to Charge Vape Pod

Your vape pod needs to be charged to work. They typically use a lithium-ion battery and are chargeable via a USB connection. They do not take long to charge, fortunately. If you are experiencing some issues with your vape pod, you may need to charge the battery. If it is not working, the battery is usually the issue.

Many people don’t enjoy charging their vape pods, finding the process too cumbersome. That leads to the demand for disposable vapes, which do not need charging. The advantage of disposable vapes is that they feel highly convenient. The device is already pre-charged and pre-filled, allowing you to start vaping right away.

How to Use Vape Pod

Mouth-to-lung is a type of technique used when vaping with a vape pod. How it works is you take the vapour into your mouth, hold it for a few seconds, and then inhale it into your lungs. If you have smoked before, it is a very similar technique. It all starts with a smooth, short, and steady drag from your vape pod.

If your vape pod has a button, this is where you press it. Most people adopt mouth-to-lung inhalation naturally when they start vaping, but if you don’t and you’re searching for a way to have a better vape experience, try it.

Open System Vape Pod

You should understand the differences between an open system vape pod and a closed system counterpart. An open system vape pod is a system that is refilled manually by the user. This lets you add whatever e-juice you like by unscrewing or unplugging the top and then refilling it carefully using a dropper. You can pour the e-liquid directly from the bottle into the pod in some models.

The freedom to experiment with different flavours and nicotine levels, although you face the inconvenience of manually refilling the pod. Some vapers don’t like this, in addition to running into cartridges and coils eventually needing replacements.

Closed System Vape Pod

The other type of vape pod is a closed system design. With this, you use pre-filled cartridges. Refilling a closed system vape pod is fast when you just click on a new pod. Another advantage of this vape pod is nearly no maintenance, so they last longer than open system pods.

The cons, however, are that you don’t have as many e-liquid options. Closed system vape pods also have a reputation for producing weak draws. Some vapers don’t like closed system pods for that reason and will opt for an open system pod instead.

E-Liquids

For your vape pod, you can use any e-liquid available. It’s a matter of personal taste what you like. The major thing to be aware of, other than taste, is the nicotine content:

  • Low nicotine is considered up to 6 mg.
  • Medium nicotine is 6 mg to 12 mg.
  • High nicotine is 12 mg to as high as 60 mg.

There are also plenty of e-liquids with no nicotine whatsoever. You will want to know the nicotine content you’re buying to not accidentally take in too much or too little. In addition, be careful of a leaky e-juice tank. Even a small amount of liquid coming out can create a mess inside a pocket or purse. If there’s nicotine in it, you don’t want it all over your hands.

As a substitute, a vape pod is leak-proof. You shouldn’t spill for any reason. You can even go for thicker vape juices – some of which pens and e-cigs cannot process – and it should be fine. You get serious performance in a vape pod that outdoes other devices by far.

Can I Vape Other Things?

No. It is unsafe to vape other liquids or materials than certified e-liquids and vape juices. Cannabis concentrates, and cannabis flowers can be vaped. However, they have their vaporizer. You should not be using these in a vape pod. Not. You shouldn’t use any solutions, chemicals, cooking oils, syrups, sodas, or anything like that in your vape pod, outside of verified vape juice.
