The home is where the heart is, especially when making your living. The various rooms and spaces inside can be tweaked to your liking throughout the home. Every space has an opportunity for experimentation, from the kitchen to the bedroom. Sometimes, the amount of space you have can get in the way, such as a small bedroom.

Unfortunately, your bedroom may not be as large as you would like it to be. If this room happens to be relatively small,  you still have a ton of creative experimentation to work with. By using what is available, you will be able to manifest some pretty ideal storage ideas.

Before doing any sort of work concerning storage, you must ensure you analyze the room itself. Your bedroom can be grounds for experimentation for storage, but only if you begin with a clean slate. As a result, get some garbage bags or storage containers. You will have to do some initial cleaning up.

Most bedrooms contain accessories or belongings that have no business being there. As human beings, we tend to let clutter increase, especially when we do not have the time to clean up. However, it is in your best interest to do this as soon as possible. That way, the forthcoming storage ideas can be easier to implement.

Here are five unique storage ideas for a small bedroom:

Bedroom Storage Idea #1: Floating Shelves

When in doubt, just place your belongings on a shelf somewhere! At least, that was the conventional way of thinking regarding storage within the bedroom. Since your specific bedroom is small, it may be more challenging. You already have limited real estate to work with as is.

Floating shelves are one of the best storage ideas for a small bedroom. As the name implies, the shelves are placed horizontally outwards above you, giving you some space. Just be sure not to use too many floating shelves, as this can detract from the overall visual. If used effectively, these shelves can add to the image!

Bedroom Storage Idea #2: Sofa Bed with Storage

The bedroom will always have key pieces of furniture littered throughout the space. Of course, the bed is the common furniture piece for all bedrooms. In some situations, you may want to upgrade the traditional bed to something more contemporary. A two-in-one combo to reach here is to get a sofa bed with storage.

On first glance, a sofa bed for small spaces looks like a conventional piece of furniture. Yet, it also come with storage capacities underneath. A couple of drawers will be at the bottom of the bed, which can house your pertinent items. Most of the time, this can include bedding materials or other apparel. Implementing it is nifty, especially if you are limited with available space!

Bedroom Storage Idea #3: Dressers

Alongside the bed, your bedroom will generally have a dresser nearby. You will put most of your clothes or other bedding materials here. When it comes to utilizing space as efficiently as possible, start with organizing the dresser. Look at what is inside, and toss out what isn’t being used anymore.

Sometimes, this could involve retrofitting the dresser for something larger. Remember, however, that a larger dresser may not always be necessary. You just want to ensure that you both have enough space for your things while not overwhelming the room itself. Once you align these two rules, you will be good to go.

Bedroom Storage Idea #4: Multifaceted Furniture

An extension of the previous point has to do with the furniture you have in the bedroom itself. Most of the time, these furniture pieces only serve one function. While this could be useful for most, it can be detrimental for those with a small bedroom. Instead, look for multifaceted furniture.

There will be more than one primary function in these items, allowing you to have more storage space. The sofa bed with storage is a great start, but your dresser can be upgraded too. Or, having a wardrobe wall can be a viable choice for those opting for better spacing options.

Bedroom Storage Idea #5: Bedroom Upgrade

Now and again, you are always encouraged to experiment with storage inside the bedroom. It is a space that may seem monotonous, but it can be creatively upgraded for the better as well.

For example, you may have winter clothes, which don’t need to be there in the current summer season. Or, you may choose to go in a minimalist direction, using only what is necessary for the room. The more you experiment. Accordingly, the more space for storage you will inevitably have!
